GIVING BACK TO DESOTO

I am a firm believer that when you are requesting something from someone that “No one cares about how much you know until they know how much you care.”

That being the case, I want to show you how much that I care about DeSoto through my actions over the years.  As your candidate for Place 3 it is important that you know about the things that I have done within the community.  This is the only way that you can truly know if someone cares about the community and not just about themselves.

In every past election when I am talking to various candidates I always ask them what they have done for the community.  The ones who haven’t done anything for the community always try to deflect the question and revert to talking about their degrees or other accolades.  I never voted for them because as a voting citizen it is great that a candidate does for him or herself but if you are trying to run for public office then it is more important for the citizens to know that you are trustworthy and actually care about the community and not just yourself.  The only true way that the citizens can know that you care more about the citizens’ well being than just yourself is through your actions of giving back within the community over time.

Of course, I have been involved in many organizations over the years however I want to take this time to focus specifically on the things that I have done here in and for DeSoto.

I have been involved within the DeSoto community for over twenty years.

  • 2024 Instrumental in coordinating and bringing a gun safety event for the kids and parents to DeSoto called Aim for Safety.  We had a Pediatric Emergency Room Doctor from Cooks Children’s Hospital of Fort Worth as the keynote speaker along with our Fire Chief, Officer Ryan, Councilwoman Raphiel, Councilwoman Chism and our former Mayor Carl Sherman, Sr. all participate and speak to the parents and kids about the importance of staying safe around firearms.  We also had the S.W.A.T. truck at the event for the kids to play around after the event.
